11 days to D-day....
imagine urself as a US marine, facing Hitler's Atlantic Wall, knowing that a wayward artillery shell can smash ur boat to bits, knowing that the moment the hatch goes down, the German machine guns can cut u to bits..., knowing that as u wade towards the shore, snipers can blast ur head apart.... knowing that as u approach the hill, all these can come down on u, leaving only ur dog-tag so that others will know ur dead?

this is how I feel now...

facing the shells of chem, the machine gunners from bio, the snipers of physics, the mines of math.... crazy lah... will i be left only as a tag, to remember me???

shouldn't be ranting like dat... anyways D-Day was successful rite...

anyways comin back to todae... we had another day... that we engaged in 'face-slapping-wrestling' and stripping yiyang... coz he made too much noise in class... den we had chem remedial... managed to catch up bout electrolysis and displacement...

Some religious groups have attacked the books for allegedly promoting witchcraft or undermining Christianity. Most of this controversy has occurred in the parts of the United States, where religion plays a prominent role in public life. In the United Kingdom, Harry Potter's country of origin, the controversy has been negligible. Other religious figures have praised the books, and some consider the criticism so detached from the actual nature of the books that the most appropriate response to it is parody.
According to the
American Library Association, the Harry Potter novels have been among the most frequently challenged in school libraries in the United States since 1998. The complaints allege that the books have occult or Satanic themes, are violent, and are anti-family.
Some highly conservative
Christian groups in the United States have denounced the series for promoting witchcraft or Satanism. "It contains some powerful and valuable lessons about love and courage and the ultimate victory of good over evil," said Paul Hetrick, spokesman for Focus on the Family, a national Christian group based in Colorado Springs. "However, the positive messages are packaged in a medium — witchcraft — that is directly denounced in scripture." [6]. The official exorcist of Rome, Father Gabriele Amorth, believes that the Harry Potter books can be a bad influence on some children by getting them interested in the occult (see Christian views on witchcraft).
Chick Publications produced a comic book tract called "The Nervous Witch" about two teenaged girls who get seriously involved in occult witchcraft and become demonically possessed as a direct result of reading Harry Potter books.[7]
It has been argued that when Pope Benedict XVI was Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith he also condemned the books in a letter expressing gratitude for the receipt of a book on the subject, stating they are "a subtle seduction, which has deeply unnoticed and direct effects in undermining the soul of Christianity before it can really grow properly." [8] (It can be noted here Pope John Paul II was reputed to like Harry Potter and also promoted it see further down.) However no evidence is provided that those "they" which are "a subtle seduction" actually refers to the Harry Potter books, nor is this at all clear from the original German text of the Cardinal's letter, which in any case shows signs of being dashed off in rather a hurry. (For example, the ungrammatical use of "dies" rather than "diese".) Monsignor Peter Fleetwood, a Vatican priest, wrote that these remarks were misinterpreted, and that the letter was likely to have been written by an assistant of the then-cardinal. [9]. Indeed, the letter appears to have been written by an underling, but was issued under the Cardinal's signature. This letter and a second that allowed publication of the first have been posted to the Internet by Gabriele Kuby, who had sent her book, Harry Potter - Good or Evil, attacking J.K. Rowling's best-selling series about the boy wizard, to the Cardinal.
However, other Christian readers have pointed out themes in the Harry Potter books which reflect values exemplified or preached by
Jesus. Lily Potter sacrificed her own life to save her child (John 15:13). Harry's Muggle guardians attempt to keep him from knowing of his gifts, yet he is taken away and sent to learn to use his powers responsibly (Matt. 5:13-16). Harry comes close to death in several stories, yet is more determined than ever to fight evil. It is also said in the books that love is the strongest magic (1 Cor 13:13). Some Christian bookstores even sell the Harry Potter series. J.K. Rowling is on record saying she did not emphasize Christian ideals in the book because her goal was never to preach or dictate a philosophy of life, but to tell a story; besides, if she had, intelligent readers would be able to guess important plot details.
Other members of the
Catholic Church gave the series their approval, saying that it is imbued with Christian morals, and that the good versus evil plot is very clear. The late Pope, Pope John Paul II, praised the books for their message about the evils of racism and genocide. Christian Congregationalist minister John Killinger also argued that rather than corrupting children's minds, the novels encourage young readers to follow the teachings of Jesus. The book The Hidden Key to Harry Potter: Understanding the Meaning, Genius, and Popularity of Joanne Rowling's Harry Potter Novels, written by John Granger, a Reader in the Orthodox Church, claims to uncover Christian themes in its analysis of the story. Granger also cites the fact that Rowling is a professed member of the presbyterian Church of Scotland

bad temperedness reigns in me.... @*%&...
haiz... why???
haven blogged 4 a few days... quite busy mugging... phy and chem is ok, but i feel that bio is still gonna die no matter how hard i try, so why bother?? maybe it's just one of paul cheong's sinster plans to take over the world (or maybe just 4.11)
haven started maths, but i think i just do a bit, read a bit... should be ok...
things fall apart or 4 continents?? that is the question... i should be doin TFA, bout Okonkwo and his MCPness/impotence (guns that can't shoot properly)/ inner love towards Enzinma/Ekwefi???/Ikemefuna.... if he was such a man he should be outright with his affections.... who would blame him.... even Oberika is like dat...
too much TFA.... change topic...
today was quite slack... chem was (as usual) another waste of time, the enthalpy ws was quite easy and badminton was quite fun (but tiring...)
paul cheong goes on and on about the bio stuff and his 'over-inclusive' and overkill stuf... kenneth seah discusses the phy prelim 2005 qns... which (finally) i can do coz it's this yrs work...
coming to other stuff... saw the GOF trailer yesterday... looks quite gd... and i don mean a certain (si beh chio) character (cough cough).... who has already been 'chope' by some other people (including certain AS and ADM)...

22 days to the exams... still got lots to do...
BIO IS A BLOODY KILLER SUBJECT!!!! sometimes i dun understand why ACIBWS/bio department wants to throw so much on us... NOT EVERYONE WANNA BE A DOCTOR!!! not me anyway... kudos to pple like minyang who strive to be neurosurgeons... (congrats on the Cambridge thing anyway... it's a great place Cambridge...) but even pple like choo and seet get put off by bio and wanna drop it next yr.... i think the stuff is ok, but it's just too much... add the fact of the weekly IAs and stuff... i dun see any other subject that overloading..
the more i look at the ACIBWS tie, the more i wanna wear my old tie on the first day... it's like a overipe banana, imagine the laughters from a)our own juniors, b) the ACBR, ACJS, ACPS, ACJC, even ACS(Int) boys... c) other schools... wat a disaster... why not redesign the uniform? or let us wear the prefects tie?? anyway acsi isn't a democracy, it's a quadrivilate (a country ruled by four).... the emperor and his officals don't really listen rite?
i think school now is like a waste of time, mugging at home would be more useful...in class these days we just do prelim papers and more ws...
can't wait till the exams are over, den can slack like crazy... i can't give too big a damn on hmt... dunno whether to source or just like samsun give his choices out... anyway we go there and just do admin work...

still have a bit of a noseblock and sore throat... haiz..

SACK THE SWEDE!!!! even i can do better as england manager.....

is religion there to lead us to God, or is it there to make people submissive to the goverment of rulers???

quote of the day
(from the movie King Arthur)
Lancelot: You look nervous. There sure are a lot of lonely men in front
Guinevere: Don't worry, i won't let them rape you...

laughter never hurts... rite?

everything i do now, i don't feel confident.... i've practised for my grade 8 exam on fri... i did quite well for pre-exam... but somehow i dun know... the last 3 days i've been banging the keys every time i make a mistake... my hands lose any control over the keys... i cock up so badly... wat to do...haiz...
even for the exams... i have studied thro most of the stuff, but i still dun feel good about it... i feel that i might just screw up this yr's final yrs...
