we're through!
to the final we go!
haha it was a great time, but after everything we're in the final and that's cool!

on the 184 today, which was super packed i witness the ugly singaporean at work again. I saw this seat and went to get it, but this old woman got there first and sat on the outer seat. when i got there, she just shifted her legs and gestured for me to get in.
i went in, and she just dunno why swung her hands and knocked my iPod out of my hands. the sickening thud almost froze my heart too. but she gave that 'can't be bothered' looked and just looked away.
i wanted to shout, but i just let back. the worst thing was that she was on the bus for so much longer than i was, and she just pushed me into the corner.
argh reached back at 7.30, just finished the remnants of my econs IA, now doing physics prac, with econs IA 2, TOK presentation and IOP to go.
argh it's back to reality

Today was looonnnnggg...
it began badly when although i thought it was raining, assembly went on as usual and we had to tread along to the old building for assembly.
i hate this everyday, cramming with endless people, trudging along despite tiredness, drowisness et al.
then lessons began.
chem paper was spend hacking my head (not literary) against the big box that the chem TYS came with.
fuck i could have got at least 65
ah oh well
than came TOK, with all the philo in maths, and a video that looked like it came from the 50s.
conclusion is that mathematcians are people who have a lot of time on their hands.
was discussing the point about the new building. Although spanking new and all, somehow i miss the old building. the classrooms with smashed tiles (due to the classroom football), air-cons that seldom worked, going to the one hell of a smelly toilet, the ghost stories of the old buildings..
haiz the good ole days...

pourqoi zizou?
why oh why oh why oh why..
forever we'll remember zinedine zidane for that.
haiz what a f-ing shame.
France were unlucky to get the second penalty for a foul on Malouda, which would have made it very very interesting. but...
domenech cocks up by sending on wiltord for henry, with penalties looming, and france just looked like they weren't gonna win the shooutout.
FORZA ITALIA! Although i dun think they deserve to win the tournament (which should have been won by Germany i think), they won it well with professional football played.
If only the ref didn't give the penalty against grosso in the 2nd round.
argh now it's over, back to reality (common tests).
have read econs notes over and over again but i'm really gonna screw up i think...
and there's physics.. the killer for me..
haiz haiz haiz...

i really love this song, maybe it shows me now..

For You I Will - Teddy Geiger:

I'm wandering the streets, in a world underneath it all
Nothing seems to be, nothing tastes as sweet
As what I can't have
Like you and the way that you're twisting your hair round your finger
Tonight I'm not afraid to tell you
What I feel about you.

Oh, I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
And cannon ball into the water
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will, For you I will

Forgive me if I st-stutter
From all of the clutter in my head
Cuz I could fall asleep in those eyes
Like a water bed
Do I seem familiar, I've crossed you in hallways
a thousand times, no more camouflage
I want to be exposed, and not be afraid to fall.

Oh, I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
And cannon ball into the water
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will You
always want what you can't have
But I've got to try
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will, For you I will, For you I will For you

If I could dim the lights in the mall
And create a mood (yeah) I would
Shout out your name so it echos in every room
Yeah

That's what I'd do, That's what I'd do to get through to you, yeah

Oh, I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
And cannon ball into the water
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will
You always want what you can't have
But I've got to try
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will, For you I will, For you I will For you I will

The Final: Italy vs France
2000 GMT, Olympiastadion, Berlin

ITALY:
Italy go into the match having only conceded one goal in this tournament, that being Zaccardo's own goal against the US. Their defence will be hard to break down, well-marshalled by Cannavaro and Buffon. Offensively wise, they aren't the best, with main striker Luca Toni not really having his scoring boots on. But u can also count on the talent of Totti, Pirlo and Del Piero off the bench.
STRENGTHS: Their defence, without doubt. Best in the world, well organized and with possible Ballon d'Or winner Fabio Cannavaro leading the defence, it will take either a moment of brillance or a stupid mistake to beat this defence.
WEAKNESSES: Not many, but possibily Cannavaro's partner at the back Materazzi. Not the quickest and suspect to late tackles. Could be exploited by the pace of Henry. Their not-so-on-form striker Toni might also be caught out by the French defence.
PROBABLE TEAM: (4-4-2) Buffon, Zambrotta, Cannavaro, Materazzi, Grosso, Gattuso, Pirlo, Perrotta, Camuronaesi, Totti, Toni.

FRANCE:
With Zidane having a few points to prove, and the team clicking at the right time, this is a strong France team, both strong in defence and potent up-front. Wingers Ribery and Malouda need to exploit the flanks with speed so as to put balls in for Henry.
STRENGTHS: Zidane. WIth his wide range of passing and skills, the Italians will have to mark him tightly and deprive him of the ball. Their defence is as good as Italy's with Thuram and Gallas in insipred form. Wingers Malouda and Ribery wlll be the key. Can they get behind the Italian defence?
WEAKNESSES: Barthez, genius or clown? He will have to step up one gear for this one.
PROBABLE TEAM: (4-2-3-1) Barthez, Abidal, Thuram, Gallas, Sagnol, Makelele, Vieria, Malouda, Zidane, Ribery, Henry.

Prediction: it will be tight, and i fancy it to go into extra time. 1-1 after 90, with Italy winning it in extra time.

What a game.... it should have been the final
Great goals by Schweinsteiger... and a suiting final match for germany..
what a hell of a team, it will be interesting to see them qualifying for Euro 2008

Day 2...
haha chinese paper was such a waste of time..
the topic - write a speech about the importance of mother tongue...
copy and paste from all the articles on straits times, MOE leaflets etcetc...
for 1 hr of the 1hr30min, i scribbled on the empty papers, writing everything from the World Cup XI to..
my inner self...
writing your thoughts on a piece of paper, with no one looking is something i've never done b4, and everything just flowed,
if only someone read it...
den came the maths paper...
somehow it felt ok, not as bad as other papers, something that i hope (with some luck) i can do quite well and get 6 (points not marks)
den went out for a middle-exam break... thx to the long wkend...
longest time i've ever played pool for, 3hrs odd...
we were the first to come, and last to leave too...
but it was great fun, with jun acting all cranky and all, our mock UN negotitation, in which jun tried to play everyone but in the end..
sam got killed by my two straight, and jun got finished too..
ok now back to the mugging...
econs!

Preview: 3rd/4th place playoff - Germany vs Portugal
Germany will be resting a few starters due to injuries (Lahm, Mertesacker, Ballack, Borowski) but Torsten Frings is set to be back for this one. Oli Kahn will start in place of Jens Lehmann, and Klose and Podolski will both start too.
I think Germany will be hungrier to win this one as some form of reward for the fanatical support they received throughout the tournament, Klose would also be going for goals to win the golden boot..
Germany to win 2-0

Day 1 of the exams
to hell with the name common tests...

EL, about sinking dinghies, bad storms, complaining sailors etcetc.
Taking my time, hand slowly building up with lactic acid, scribbling stuff that was starting to sound like crap....
than we had to wait for the HL paper to end b4 leaving the audi for break (that was supposed to be a study break in the admin rm),
and we had to come back early to hear drong...
well well it was all worth it!
i think we're the only sch to get a world cup final break...
ole ole ole!!
den the chem paper arrived
and all was quiet...
A was quite ok,
B was pretty screw somehow, especially with the complex ions thingy...

what colour, hell i dun know man
cruising thro the section C
casually taking my time, answering the questions..
looking at my watch

DEUSTCHLAND, DEUSTCHLAND!
DEUSTCHLAND, DEUSTCHLAND...
the end of a fantastic team, no doubt team of the tournament.
a team of little talent at the start, now coming out with one hell of a new following.
Entertaining to the max (unlike some teams), high pressure football just got a new meaning.
Losing to Italy (which were the better team on the night) in 119, 120 minutes is painful, but they will hopefully come back better for Euro 2008....
Lehmann.Lahm.Fredreich.Mertesacker.Metzelder.Schweinstegier.Frings.Schneider.
Ballack.Klose.Podolski.Borowski.Odonkor.Neuville.Klinsmann...
one hell of a team..
they can definetly go out with their heads held high.
unlike a certain British team...
Time to change thing, Mr McClaren...

exams are tmr! eng.chem.chineseB.Maths.Econs.Physics...
haha slept this afternoon so im gonna be super high for another few hours..
well now it begins...

England - A post-mortem
Ok england is out on penalties again... at the hands of portugal and big phil again...
sigh...
but their troubles started way before this knock-out.
To be honest, England played their best footie in this match, even when they were at 10 men...
but the big blame has to be put on one man... the swede..
1) WHY DID HE BRING ONLY 4 STRIKERS?
owen (half-fit), rooney (just recovered), crouch (nothing to say), walcott (who hasn't even played in the EPL)
when owen got injured, that decision came back to haunt him. With rooney as a one-man attack (which is definetly not his best place), and crouch mis-firing who was going to score?
lampard couldn't even hit his pen
if they had brought defoe, or even darren bent/andy johnson, it would have given them a extra diminsion in attack, not always depending on the long ball to crouch.
and if you're going to bring walcott, u have to play him.
when england went down to 10, walcott plus lennon would have thrown a bit of unpredictablitiy into the England attack, not just thumping the ball to crouch, and hoping someone gets into a good position.
dump the dead-weight (jenas, etc.) and take defoe or bent.
even at 10 men, England looked far the better team and should have used lennon and gerrard, maybe even walcott to press the portugese defence back, not just to play for penalties, in which England's record is bad to say the least.
I still feel the ref spoilt it by sendling rooney off. The stamp looked accidental, and the shove should only have got a yellow. But ronaldo did no favours, dang for man u.
There's only one Owen Hargreaves, couldn't agree more. Fantastic for England no matter where he played. For England's sake he should stay at Bayern, where he would get more Continental experience which will benefit him and the team.
Frankie Lampard was a huge disappointment, maybe exhausted after long seasons with Chelsea.

Aaron Lennon and Joe Cole, two of the best players for England without a doubt. Pacy, creative and all.
With so much creative talent available for Eriksson, he has done a horrifically bad job by playing the long ball to crouch. A combination of pace (with lennon/cole) plus true scorers in defoe/bent would have broken down the portugese defence.
Rooney cannot play alone up front. He needs a person to work off, like with van nisterooy/saha at man u. Playing him alone, with becks knocking long balls to him is just crazy, almost criminal.
but in all, England has come into this tournament without much creative ideas, a coach who can't really be bothered bout England, which is a cocktail for disaster.
They should have just got rid of Eriksson after the sheik incident.
ah oh well...
England fan = frustration

4 days to exams...

6 days to the common tests
haha but i'm still gonna catch world cup lah...
world cup once in 4 yrs, exams once in 1/2 yr!
argh but really not much confidence haha

haha argentina got it completly wrong yesterday, taking off riquelme and crespo and then screwing up in penalties.. but i think germany deserved that, now it'll give them belief that they can go all the way now..
ok tonite
ENG-GER-LAND! ENG-GER-LAND! ENG-GER-LAND!
of coz we'll win! somehow or another..
and france will beat brazil.... and i'll be very happy!
haha now back to the studying!
