back from the mountains.... one heck of an experience....i love it there man... really one cool place.... now for the day to day breakdown...Day 1:delayed flight... sat in the gate playing bridge.... argh i hate China Eastern....tried sleeping in 20 different positions, couldn't get to sleep at all...sat in the Kunming terminal playing bridge too.. the flight to lijiang was ok, and had super views of mountains, fields and all. (Photos above...)went to the old village after lunch, nice horse carriage ride, hate the smell though... doesnt' help when u see a horse piss in front of you.....Day2:briefing changed so much... suddenly there were more pple to plan for, more pple to accomodate...went to another old town and shopped a bit here... thought i left my camera in a shop only to find it in my bag... with zero batt left...sigh...Day3-4: Life in the Village:When i was going there, i thought omg i was going to really suffer for two days...how wrong i was...the kids are just so different from us... carefree and all, no social politics, no hating each other... just good strong communal bonds. something that we all can learn from...icebreakers were fun, changed from whacko to bangra dancing.. and singing...food there is better than our restaurant food in lijiang... seriously...our concert that night was great... guitars by timmies and yichen... host by ryan huang.. singing tonghua was great, especially with the kids singing with us. den the electricity died....no matter, take up some wood, start a fire, and do some Naxi dances!!really dancing around the fire was a great experience, though it left us sweaty and tired.. i experinced how carefree they were, and how the wanted to share their life with us...next day, woke up with the cold air around and the smell of the toilets....learning activites... teaching the kids english was cool.... i now understand how hard it is to be teachers... we also taught them bout singapore, bout who we are... bout lepaking...more games and more games... and we beat the teachers in a soccer match 5-4... although we were like unable to breathe after 40 mins...the labour day concert was interesting, with both traditional and hip-hop performances... leading to khing's liquid dance...haha there were also scandals, which i will not name here...leaving the village was hard, with the whole school lining up to say bye... it was really sad and all....now to continue touring...Day5: went to Tiger Leaping Gorge... walked 2.5k to see water...Day6:Went to the Snow mtns... freaking cold up there, and we need the oxygen... which has a perfectly inelastic demand... dots..ski lifts were fun.. but lepaking in the bus is better...flight to Kunming... argh...customs pple ransacked my bag for a can of deo.... and just left me there with my stuff all over the place... got on the plane, saw portugese words on it... damn second hand plane... you know something is not good when your plane takes off and suddenly goes down again... and the girls at the back screaming isn't comforting too... freaking turbulance...Met with the P'NUK pple at the hotel, and found out it was in the red-light district... raunchy...Day7:Dounan flower market, great stuff to look at, not buy.went to pizza hut to eat, than went shopping, shopping there sucked... only stuff i bought was fake shirts... stupid pple try to snook me, 180 for one shirt... got it down to 30....had the best food (Western buffet) for dinner, only short coming was the HONG HE ice-cream.... chocolate with cigarette smells...at kunming airport... can't even get a stupid fragile sticker on my luggage... nice shattered glass...and there was this chiko pei who smashed into rongxing and me... scared her so much she sat between me and kunhan..well it's the end, and i enjoyed it superbly...election time..
