i thought that i would be making an uninformed decision, a decision that would be solely based on how many names i knew on the piece of paper.
I went in today, hoping to get more information to make this informed decision.
well i think it would be better if i filled up the form based on who i knew. this isn't a process that the ancient Greeks would be proud of, they being the founders of modern democracy.
But this is a way to exhibit the power of democracy, in which people have a right to choose their leaders, even though the way in which they make this important decision is completely against the spirit of democracy.
So i conclude that democracy can only succeed with these two important ingredients.
1) Our leader-candidates must be able to provide us with enough info on why they should be elected.
2) The public must care enough to believe that our choice will make a difference.
without these two, we might as well live in a totalitarian society. for democracy will have already failed. democracy is being empowered to make a decision, and that decision should not be based on who is the most popular, who gives out the most freebies close to election day, who serenades the public during the election period the most. It should be based on capability, based on the willingness to stand up and be counted.
so to all of us, shame on us. we have abused this sacred right to choose.
i think oggy's question today about the time machine was the best question in the session by far. those who raised immediately, i know what you stand for, and you have my support. for the few who looked around before raising their hands, well it's not going to get you any votes you know...
and LET"S STAMP OUT RACISM IN SOCIETY! there's no place for that in the world today. seriously, shame on you. if you wanted to show protests, you could have shown the whole picture, not just the scream sikh guy. seriously, it's not funny.
so as i receive the slip of paper soon, i will scan through all the numbers, think of whether i have even had a 10 sentence conversation with this person before, and move on until i find a name of someone i know, and just write this number down. Yes, i am guilty of corrupting democracy, but really, who cares? it's not like it will affect my life....

Today was weird.
It seemed like nobody wanted to teach anything. Everyone was scared of....
EE/TOK!!!! (scary music...)
After going through Ali Chew's EE clinic, many of us realized that our EE, was actually going to hell if we send it to IBO...
time for desperate measures!

Goldfinger - 99 Red Balloons (99 Luftballons)
You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got.
Set them free at the break of dawn
'Till one by one, they were gone.
Back at base, bugs in the software
Flash the message, something's out there.
Floating in the summer sky
99 red balloons go by.
99 red balloons
Floating in the summer sky.
Panic bells, it's red alert.
There's something here from somewhere else.
The war machine springs to life.
Opens up one eager eye.
Focusing it on the sky,
Where 99 red balloons go by
99 Decision Street.
99 ministers meet.
To worry, worry, super-scurry.
Call the troops out in a hurry.
This is what we've waited for.
This is it boys, this is war.
The president is on the line
As 99 red balloons go by.
99 Kriegsminister
Streichholz und Benzinkanister
Hielten sich fuer schlaue leute
Witterten schon fette Beute
Riefen: Krieg und wollten Macht
Mann, wer haette das gedacht
Dass es einmal soweit kommt
Wegen 99 Luftballons
99 dreams I have had.
In every one, a red balloon.
It's all over and I'm standing pretty.
In this dust that was a city.
If I could find a souvenir
Just to prove the world was here.
And here is a red balloon
I think of you, and let it go...

it's not the first time. i can't believe i let you do it again.
i tried not to judge you, i wanted to see whether you've changed, i wanted it to be a time we can talk, where we can have some fun.
i've done this before, and never, except with you, have i needed to change myself to suit your needs. When you go out, your friends should know you have a date. they shouldn't bugger you to dump your date to go out with them. XVI XII MMVI wasn't like that. that was a actual one, with a mature friend too. now i regret. regret doing this. once bitten twice shy. now, in such times, i know who really are friends, and who are trying to be there. so that's it.
i'm in cold storage.

back from DITC
somehow although it was short, it was super crazy.
running this camp was tough, getting things done was crazy, and something frustrating.
i wanna thank everyone who came. if i did anything to piss you off, i'm really sorry.
i think the acting from everyone was fantastic, despite the short time, and no rehearsals, everyone was great. thanks
went back home, ate dinner and went for a nap, wanting to catch 'ugly betty' and maybe chelsea vs spurs
woke up the next morning at 7, with my left hand completely immobile,
'what's the stupid sharp thing on my leg? oh crap that's my hand!'
tried to move it, no reaction.' wildly used right hand to swing my left hand around and around. slight feeling in hand. repeatedly gripped and un-gripped fist to restart blood flow. finally got my nerves back.
oh man i thought i lost my hand. really...
went to run, than did all the hw that i had expected to do during camp, if not for the 2am sleep and the 6am wake up.
funny things that happened:
- thang trying to hit orion and the council guys with a water bomb. in the end everyone hit thang with all the cum-bombs et al. he volunteered as a human shield. wowowee...
- cheryl trying to hit david with a bomb i passed to her. in the end she didn't throw hard enough for the bomb to burst. haiz girls.
- emotional burdens and monstrosity.
- seeing a certain couple at LWMC. so eww...
- seeing this couple during service acting so intimate while the preacher was talking. so inappropriate (this is hell not funny)
somehow or another i'm not looking forward to friday. it wasn't the first choice, and it's not one but two...
hey mr curiousity

What i have learned today about the birds and the bees...
hell i'm over that stage. Let's just call it sex.
1) You CAN get pregnant even though you have had sex only once. really...
2) You do not try to get someone in bed with you by saying 'Come on, let's do it, everyone else is also!'
3) It's not the women's job to wear the protection, it's the man's job.
But on a more serious note, abortion is disgusting, the procedure is awful.
Throws up the question of the legality of abortions.
(No, no not another TOK discussion!! argh...)
Send yeong wei an angsty photo of myself for the camp booklet. reflects my mood now.
It's International Womens' Week! Started by AWARE! a guy's group to protect girls!
wear a white ribbon everyone!
let's make women more equal than men! lol

is it a blessing, a gift?
or is it a curse, a damned.

it started raining b4 i left my place, and stopped while we were forming up. Then, when we were on the ground, it started raining again.
yeh yeh yeh yeh yeh...
after all the marching in the rain, i turned around, and saw that everyone had been evacuated
